Imagine waking up in the privacy of your own home and planning your day. Will you drive your car or take advantage of free van service to run errands? Is there a scheduled activity—like an exercise class or bingo—that you want to participate in today? No need for meal planning or doing the dinner dishes when you can eat a delicious evening meal at the community dining area, and you may even want to enjoy that meal with some of your friends who live nearby. One thing is certain: as a resident of The Homes at Tatman Village, you will reap all the benefits of independent retirement living without the responsibilities of routine home maintenance as well as all the perks of living in a community geared to your needs and priorities.
The Homes at Tatman Village is the newest addition to a well-known community built around the needs and priorities of its residents. Designed for 55+ residents, its spacious, modern duplexes nestled on a 20-acre campus, offer busy, active residents the security and freedom of living in a vibrant retirement community with a long-standing reputation for excellent facilities and services.
Tatman Village, Inc., a not-for-profit, private foundation dedicated to providing residential homes for independent living, has been providing housing for retired men and women and active seniors since 1981. Through the benevolence of Eva “Kip” Tatman and her sister, Nellie “Frank” Tatman, a trust was established to build and support a retirement community in Monticello, IL. The original community was expanded and renovated to meet the demands for these services. Today, there is typically a waiting list to reside in the apartments. The 18 Homes at Tatman Village complement the independent-living apartments and offer residents options for larger living spaces and attached garages to accommodate busy, active lifestyles.
Occasionally, students from Lincoln School, and other area schools perform plays and skits.
